HC Deb 22 May 1974 vol 874 c201W
Col. Sir Harwood Harrison

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prisoners currently held in Her Majesty's prisons are serving sentences of 15 years or more; and how this compares with the position in 1968 and 1963.

Dr. Summerskill

The latest information available is that 82 persons are serving determinate sentences of imprisonment of 15 years or more in prisons in England and Wales. Comparable figures for 1968 and 1963 are not available.
