§ Mr. D. E. Thomasasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what plans he has for ensuring that hill land development programmes effectively carried out on his Department's experimental husbandry farm can be put into operation by individual farmers.
§ Mr. MoyleThe work of the Department's experimental centres is communicated to farmers in various ways. Guides and reports are published annually, and open days for farmers, commercial and educational bodies are regularly held at the centres. The results of their work is also passed on in talks given by centre staff, by field advisers of the Agricultural Development and Advisory Service who maintain close and regular contact with the centres, by the centre advisory committees and other publicity media. Individual farmers themselves of course have to decide whether to adopt the techniques and improvements developed.
