§ Mr. Onslowasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection whether she has approved proposals for the sale of eggs in quantities of fives and tens, instead of half-dozens and dozens; and whether she has sought guarantees against consequential price increases.
§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsPackers and retailers normally sell eggs in quantities their customers prefer. I understand that the industry has no plans for abandoning the practice of selling in dozens and half-dozens. As things now stand I see no need for guarantees against price increases on this account.
