HC Deb 26 March 1974 vol 871 c71W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what would be the cost per year of increasing retirement pensions only of pensioners living in Scotland to a level of £15 for a single person and £25 for a married couple.

Mr. Robert C. Brown

Compared with current pension rates, the cost would be about £220 million a year after allowing for supplementary pension savings.
