HC Deb 25 March 1974 vol 871 c11W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will immediately make available in Wales a fourth television channel for the transmission of Welsh language programmes produced by both the BBC and ITV, which could be supplemented, as necessary, by English language programmes of particular interest to Wales.

Mr. Alexander W. Lyon

The report of the Committee on Broadcasting Coverage is expected in the summer. We shall take decisions about broadcasting in Wales only after considering any recommendations the committee may make, against the background of the future of broadcasting as a whole.
