HC Deb 25 March 1974 vol 871 c46W
Mr. Pardoe

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish a table in the OFFICIAL REPORT showing the revenue derived in the last financial year at current tax rates, at the tax rates fixed in April 1970 adjusted for the decline in the value of money, and the percentage increase or decrease, from income tax, surtax, corporation tax, capital gains tax, death duties, oil duties, tobacco duties, spirits duties, beer and wine duties, betting and gaming tax, car tax, and total tax revenue.

Dr. Gilbert

The receipts of the vari-outs taxes in 1972–73 are contained in Financial Statistics; provisional out-turn figures for receipts in 1973–74 will be published in the Financial Statement and Budget Report tomorrow. It is not clear what is meant by the second part of the Question with reference to the direct taxes: if the hon. Member will write to me setting out in more detail the information he would like I shall try to provide it.
