HC Deb 22 March 1974 vol 870 c204W
Mr. Corrie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether the discretionary improvement grant is being paid only where a house is below the tolerable standard.

Mr. William Ross

It is for the local authority in the exercise of its discretionary powers to decide whether grant should be paid in any particular case. Grants may be paid where the house is above the tolerable standard.
