HC Deb 28 June 1974 vol 875 cc564-5W
Sir D. Dodds-Parker

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what benefits will accrue to Malta from the general specialised preferences in 1975 under the recent agreement made with the EEC.

Mr. Deakins

I have been asked to reply.

Provisions have recently been made for Malta to benefit from treatment no less favourable than that granted to countries benefiting from generalised preferences. Generalised preferences for 1975 have not yet been decided. We shall be pressing for improvements to the scheme both in the industrial and agricultural sectors, and Malta would benefit from any such improvements.
