HC Deb 28 June 1974 vol 875 c565W
Mr. Moonman

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement concerning the 500 or more British holidaymakers stranded in various parts of Europe and North Africa as a result of the sudden financial collapse of Pacesetter Travel.

Miss Joan Lestor

I understand that only four coach parties have had to be helped and that no one was stranded for long. As most of the travellers are citizens of Australia and New Zealand we have worked in close contact with their missions. Two parties have been brought back from Helsinki, one is being brought back from Berlin, and I understand that the Australian Embassy in Warsaw has assisted another party there. If other difficulties arise our consulates abroad will of course be ready to give any help they can.
