§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) in view of the fact that modified environmental controllers such as System 7 and the Possum Link could be of benefit to certain categories of disabled people now being looked after by local authorities, whether her Department will give advice to local authorities regarding this type of aid; and if she will make a statement;
(2) in view of the fact that environmental aids such as Possum Link and System 7 have now been approved by her Department, and that, using the Amelia Harris Report as a basis for estimate, over a million elderly and disabled people could be assisted in gaining independence from the use of this type of apparatus, if she will take steps designed to increase the availability and use of these aids.
