§ Mr. O'Halloranasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will seek to arrange an early meeting with representatives of the London Group Committee concerning wages and conditions of the following personnel employed by his Department: engineers, buildings, supplies, transport workers, and custody guards.
§ Mr. KaufmanNegotiations on the rates of pay of all industrial civil servants, including members of my Department, are taking place at present between management and trade union representatives on the Joint Co-ordinating Committee and the views of the London Group Committee have already been conveyed to my Department's representatives who are taking part in the discussions.
London weighting is currently under review by the Pay Board and its report is expected by the end of the month. In the circumstances, my hon. Friend will appreciate that a meeting with the London Group Committee would not be appropriate at this stage.
