§ Mr. Farrasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will seek to obtain and publish information as to whether the new Water Research Centre will continue the policy of the Water Resources Board in using external agencies to assist with research and 459W development into the water cycle and, in particular, if it is intended to continue with the publication of a Register of Research and Development.
§ Mr. Denis HowellI am informed that the practice of using external agencies to assist with research and development is currently being continued by the Water Research Centre. However, I understand that the council of the centre has not yet formulated the details of its future methods of operation including any methods of publicising its research activities.
