asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will make a statement on the progress of his reassessment of the Maplin project.

The reappraisal of the Maplin project is proceeding satisfactorily. As my right hon. Friend said in his announcement on 21st March, he intends making a further statement before the Summer Recess.
