Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will take steps to provide BBC Wales with an additional radio wavelength so that a full Welsh language radio service can be instituted in parallel with an English language service for Wales.

Member on 25th March.—[Vol. 871,c. 11.]—about television, I said that the Government would take decisions about broadcasting in Wales only after considering any recommendations that the Crawford Committee on Broadcasting Cover- age may make, against the background of the future of broadcasting as a whole. This also applies to sound radio.
