HC Deb 31 July 1974 vol 878 c402W
Mr. Wrigglesworth

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will now take steps fully to implement the recommendations of the Quirk Report on Speech Therapy Services; and if she will make a statement.

Mr. Alfred Morris

In April of this year, my Department issued to both health and local authorities advice on the integration of speech therapy services in the reorganised National Health Service. Officials are continuing their discussions with representatives of the profession about the remaining recommendations in the Quirk Report which call for action by the Government and further guidance will be issued as soon as possible.
