HC Deb 31 July 1974 vol 878 c282W
Mr. Townsend

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many GLC properties are awaiting modernisation and rehabilitation to current standards.

Mr. Kaufman

I understand from the GLC that out of a total of some 75,000 dwellings dating from before 1950, some 10,000 have already been modernised or are in process of modernisation. It is envisaged that most of the remainder will be modernised in due course, although the majority of them cannot be considered as high priority cases by general London standards.
