§ Sir D. Dodds-Parkerasked the Secretary of State for Trade what agreement 424W has been reached between EEC and Cyprus to improve trade.
§ Mr. DeakinsThe EEC has a preferential trading agreement with Cyprus which came into force on 1st June 1973. This agreement provides for duty reductions by the original member States and Cyprus on most industrial and some agricultural goods. There are special arrangements for the new member States. In our own case, trade between the United Kingdom and Cyprus will continue at pre-accession rates until mid-1977. There will be a review before that date of the arrangements to apply subsequently.
