Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how much money has been spent on advertising jobs at the motor taxation office at Swansea; and in which local and national newspapers such advertisements were placed.

Mr. Mulley

Between 1st April 1973 and 31st March 1974 my Department spent £1,870 on newspaper advertising of jobs at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre, Swansea, and the Civil Service Commission £775.

The following newspapers have been used:

  • West Wales Weekly Observer
  • Swansea City Advertiser
  • Port Talbot Guardian
  • Llanelli Star
  • Cambrian News
  • Brecon and Radnor Express

  • Western Mail
  • South Wales Echo
  • West Wales Guardian
