§ Mr. Muddasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will state for the South-West and for Cornwall the total amount of financial assistance made available, respectively, in both grants and loans to companies under Section 7 of the Industry Act, the number of companies respectively aided and the estimated number of jobs saved and created by such assistance since the implementation of the Act.
§ Mr. HefferUp to 25th July 1974 loans totalling £1,375,600 and grants totalling £439,700 had been offered respectively to 12 and 24 companies in the South-West assisted area under Section 7 of the Industry Act. The projects assisted are estimated to cost in total about £15 million and to give rise to the creation of over 3,000 new jobs and the safeguarding of a further 300.
