HC Deb 31 July 1974 vol 878 cc367-8W
Miss Boothroyd

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what is the total Government financial assistance given to Alfred Marks Bureau to move its accounting system outside London; and whether he will list in the OFFICIAL REPORT the names of all such businesses and the respective grants awarded under the Government's incentive scheme to move to assisted areas.

Mr. Heffer

45 offers of regional selective assistance totalling £729,000 have been made under Section 7 of the Industry Act 1972 in respect of service industry and office projects, including that of the Alfred Marks Bureau, which are transferring to the assisted areas.

Details of selective assistance to individual companies are confidential but the Secretary of State is announcing today arrangements for disclosure of future payments to individual companies.
