HC Deb 29 July 1974 vol 878 c40W
Mr. Jessel

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many railway stations are equipped with lifting barriers operated by controlled circuit television as proposed for Hampton and Strawberry Hill stations; what is the approximate average length of time of operation; whether any accidents involving deaths or personal injury have taken place on any of them; and if so, how many.

Mr. Mulley

The answers to the four parts of the Question are: 35; 7 months; yes; one—which was in no way attributable to the supervision being through closed circuit television—invoving minor injuries.
