HC Deb 23 July 1974 vol 877 cc401-2W
25. Mr. Freud

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what representations he has had from local education authorities regarding amendments to the raising of the school leaving age.

Mr. Prentice

The Inner London Education Authority was among the bodies—which also included the local authority associations—that expressed views to my Department on the possibility of an early leaving date in the summer term.

42. Mr. Goodhart

asked the Secretary for Education and Science what representations he has received asking that students should be released from secondary schools before they reach the official school leaving age if they wish to complete their education in the Armed Forces.

Mr. Prentice

I am aware of none from members of the public. But I would draw attention to the remarks of my hon. Friend in the debate on 8th July.
