Mr. Parkinson

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science when he received nominations for membership of the committee to be chaired by Mrs. Warnock to look into special education for handicapped children; and why he has not yet been able to announce that membership.

Since the election there has been extensive consultation between the five Departments concerned in the choice of members. Invitations have now been sent and I expect to announce the composition of the committee very soon.
