§ 29. Mr. Normantonasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will consider steps designed to effect greater economy in the use of all forms of energy, with special reference to industry.
§ Mr. VarleyI recently outlined in a public speech the steps the Government propose to take to effect greater economy310W and the more efficient use of all forms of energy. These steps cover all forms of energy consumption including industry. As a first step I announced in the House on 25th June the setting up of an Advisory Council on Energy Conservation which will have a vital rôle to play in the strategy for promoting energy efficiency, including industry.
