§ Mr. Roy Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will consider the desirability of a statutory scheme for extending the principle of concessionary fares to enable retirement pensioners to travel throughout Wales under the scheme and not be confined largely to their own county boundaries as at present.
§ Mr. John MorrisConcessionary fares for pensioners are the responsibility of local authorities. I would hope that with local government reorganisation they will find ways to harmonise their schemes. A circular will be issued on this subject shortly.
