§ Mr. Michael Lathamasked the Secretary of State for Wales whether he will list the local authorities which have applied to him so far for loan sanction to buy unsold houses off private developers since the issue of circular 111/74, naming in each case the specific site, the number of dwellings involved, the firm concerned and the size of the loan for which sanction is being sought.
§ Mr. John MorrisIt would not be appropriate to give the details requested, since in some cases where approval has been sought negotiations may still be continuing between the private developer and the local authority. Up to 11th July six schemes had been approved, covering 313W 371 dwellings for acquisition within the financial year, and many other schemes are under consideration by local authorities.
