Mr. Warren

asked the Secretary of State for Industry (1) what is the estimated cost to Her Majesty's Government of the purchase of the aviation interests of the Hawker Siddeley Co. Ltd., in order to nationalise the company;

(2) what is the estimated cost to Her Majesty's Government of the purchase of the British Aircraft Corporation Limited in order to nationalise the company.

As with other aspects of the Government's proposal to take the aircraft industry into public ownership, no decisions have yet been taken on how compensation should be calculated.
