HC Deb 16 July 1974 vol 877 c92W
Mr. Fernyhough

asked the Secretary of State for Energy how those miners and ex-miners suffering from pneumoconiosis and at present in receipt of industrial injury benefit for the same should make their claim for compensation, which will be due to them consequent upon the recent agreement between the Government, the Coal Board and the National Union of Mineworkers.

Mr. Eadie

The National Coal Board and the unions are discussing the compensation scheme for pneumoconiotics referred to in the Interim Report of the Coal Industry Examination. The method of making claims has not yet been decided, but the board will ensure that adequate publicity of the details is given as soon as they have been settled.
