HC Deb 05 July 1974 vol 876 c292W
Mr. Knox

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the number of graduates from universities in 1973 who still remain unemployed.

Mr. Gerry Fowler

According to figures supplied by the University Grants Committee 1,367 students who obtained first degrees from universities in Great Britain in 1972–73 were believed to be unemployed when last contacted between graduation and December 1973. In addition there were 2,006 in temporary employment while awaiting permanent employment or further study.
