§ Mr. Hugh JenkinsIn the case of museums wholly maintained by local authorities, their staff are already able to transfer their pension rights if they move to the national museums and vice versa. The conditions of employment in provincial museums and galleries are, of course, the responsibility of the authorities that maintain them. Local authorities have been invited to consider the recommendations on this subject made by the Committee on Provincial Museums and Galleries when reviewing their museum services as a consequence of the reorganisation of local government.
