§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science, in view of the numbers of disabled and severely disabled students pursuing courses at the Open University and the cost to the university in assisting these students, if he will consider an extra grant for the Open University to service this need and to provide extra facilities.
§ Mr. Gerry FowlerRecurrent grant for the Open University is based on an assessment of its total requirements, and the university authorities are free to use the grant as they think best for the various activities of the university, including the provision of facilities for disabled students.
