§ 15. Mr. Whiteheadasked the Secretary of State for Industry when he will make a decision about further launching aid for the RB211–524 engine, currently under development by Rolls-Royce (1971) Limited for use on the Lockheed TriStar and other aircraft.
§ Mr. MeacherThe Government are contributing at an annual rate of £2.5 million towards Rolls-Royce (1971) Limited's cost of developing the RB211–524 in 1974. Further commitment will be related to the future market including the outcome of the present proposal for an investment in Lockheed by Textron Inc.
