§ Mr. William RossAt 1974 prices, central Government expenditure on major improvement schemes and new construction was about £208 million for the period 1968–74—an increase of about £66 million, or 47 per cent., over the comparable expenditure for 1962–68.
§ Mr. Grimondasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will pay a visit to Shetland to experience the roads.
§ Mr. William RossI have at present no plans for a visit to Shetland. Shetland County Council, as highway authority, is doing much to improve public roads on the islands with the help, where appropriate, of Government grant.
