§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Attorney-General what action has been taken on recommendations 26–51 (pp. 495–498) of the Finer Committee.
The Attorney-GeneralNone. As I stated in the answer I gave my hon. Friend the Member for Gloucestershire, West (Mr. Watkinson) on 9th December —[Vol. 883, c. 25–7.]—decisions as to the committee's recommendations on family courts must await decisions on the other main recommendations of the committee and receipt of the Law Commission's Report on the Matrimonial Jurisdiction of Magistrates' Courts. The Government have not yet reached a decision as to whether family courts should be introduced.
