HC Deb 09 December 1974 vol 883 cc37-8W
Mr. Ronald Bell

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what acknowledgment has been sent from his Department to holders of amateur radio licences who have made complaints, particulars of which have been forwered to him by the hon. and learned Member for Beaconsfield, about illegal jamming of the London area repeater GB3LO; and what action he has taken, by way of revocation of licence or otherwise, against the person responsible.

Mr. Alexander W. Lyon

The original was made to the Post Office. A second complaint received by telephone at the Home Office was discussed with the complainant, who also sent a letter but stated that he did not desire an acknowledgment. More recent communications containing supplementary information required no special acknowledgments since it was known that an investigation was in hand.

Two unattended transmitters and one mobile transmitter apparently engaged in this jamming have been traced, and consideration is being given to the prosecution of a person believed to be concerned.
