§ Mrs. Bainasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he has any plans to designate Abbotsinch Airport, Glasgow, under the Aviation Act 1971; and, if so, how the airport will be designated.
§ Mr. Clinton DavisNoise abatement measures at Abbotsinch are at present primarily a matter for Glasgow Corporation and will become the responsibility of the British Airports Authority once it has acquired the airport. I believe that the corporation and the authority will act responsibly in these matters and accordingly I see no need to designate the airport pursuant to Section 29 of the Civil Aviation Act 1971.
