HC Deb 25 October 1973 vol 861 c691W
Mr. Wingfield Digby

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he will make a statement on his conversations with the West German Government about the use of nuclear propulsion for merchant ships, in view of the increasing threat of oil shortage.

Mr. Peter Walker

I have not had any such conversations with the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. However, the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority is keeping this subject under review, and is in contact with industrial and commercial interests in this country and abroad, including the Federal Republic of Germany.
