HC Deb 25 October 1973 vol 861 c691W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many applications by firms in the West Midlands for industrial development certificates, since 19th June 1972, gave the need for modernisation as a relevant factor in support of the application; and how many certificates were refused.

Mr. Anthony Grant

Although modernisation has been a relevant factor in the majority of cases, a detailed analysis could not be provided without disproportionate expense. In the period 1st July 1972 to 31st August 1973, 11 IDC applications in the West Midlands Region were refused.
