§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give special consideration to providing financial assistance to the Aberaeron RDC to provide basic services to Derwendeg (Oakford), Cardiganshire, in an attempt to safeguard the future of that community.
§ Mr. Peter ThomasMy Department has been approached by Aberaeron RDC about a proposal that Derwen Gan (Oakford) should be declared a general improvement area under the terms of the Housing Act 1969, and the matter is being examined. If other proposals are put to the Welsh Office in respect of the provision of basic services at Derwen Gan (Oakford), they will be given careful consideration, in accordance with existing legislation.
