§ Mr. BarberThe standard of living, measured by real personal disposable income per head, rose during the five and a half years between the fourth quarter of 1964 and the second quarter of 1970 by 8½ per cent. The corresponding figure for the three years between the second quarter of 1970 and the second quarter of 1973 was 13½ per cent. At an annual rate, the standard of living during the first period of five and a half years rose by 1½ per cent. a year and during the second period of three years by 4½ per cent. a year.
