§ Mr. EyreThe average cost of construction was £4,500 for 2-storey 5-bedspace houses in tenders approved during 1972 for local authorities in England and Wales outside the Greater London area. An estimate of the average total cost, including land, site works, etc., of all types of local authority dwellings up to 1972 is given in Table XXXV of Housing and Construction Statistics No. 6, a copy of which is in the Library.
