§ Mr. SpeedIt is for the local highway authorities in the first instance to consider proposals for traffic management in the Lake District. The Department's regional director has recently invited them, the planning board and the Countryside Commission to join in a study of the need for additional controls on traffic movement and parking in the park and on its approach roads.
