§ Mr. Dykesasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement on his estimate of the repercussions on the Concorde project of the recent Soviet supersonic air crash at the Paris Air Show.
§ Mr. Michael HeseltineThe development of Concorde and the TU-144 have proceeded independently. Concorde is being subjected to the most rigorous tests of structural and flight safety ever undertaken for a civil aircraft. I do not believe that its prospects should in any way be affected by the tragic accident to the TU-144.
