HC Deb 24 July 1973 vol 860 cc431-2W
50. Sir R. Thompson

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what approaches he has had from the London Boroughs Association on the matter of homelessness; what progress he has made in the formulation of plans to deal with this problem; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Channon

Following a recent meeting of the London Boroughs Association at which homelessness was discussed, the association has written to the Department about the resources and measures required to tackle homelessness. We are about to put a draft programme to local authorities in London and elsewhere, as a first step in the concerted campaign against homelessness, promised in "Widening the Choice".
