HC Deb 24 July 1973 vol 860 cc487-8W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement, following the decision of the Court of Appeal in the case of the late P.C. Michael Ince, on the extent to which other cases involving the police are likely to be affected, and on the action he proposes to take.

Mr. R. Carr

The Criminal Injuries Compensation Board will consider the implications of the decision of the Court of Appeal for future applications and will re-examine any case already dealt with in the light of any representations related to it which it may receive. I have asked the working party which I established to review the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme to take account of the decision in its deliberations on the future of the scheme.
