§ 41. Mr. Bruce-Gardyneasked the Minister for the Civil Service whether, in view of the fact that out of more than 26W 520 applications by retiring civil servants for permission to take up employment in businesses with which their Departments had dealings over the past 10 years only 20 have been refused, he will increase the stringency of the application of the rules.
§ Mr. Kenneth BakerNo. As my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister said on 2nd April 1973 in reply to a Question on this subject, the rules have in general worked satisfactorily; they are kept under review; and there are at present no proposals to alter them.
