Nabarroasked the Minister for the Civil Service what are the supplemental and extra costs associated with the printing of House of Commons documents, including the Votes, during the currency of strike action by Government employees; what is his estimate of the financial burden entailed during the period of the latest strike to the latest convenient date; what instructions he has given to the Alfred Marks Bureau; and what are the conditions of co-operation by that company in its stand-in arrangements.
§ Mr. Kenneth BakerThe estimated additional cost of producing the essential papers during the period 11th June to 30th June is £22,000. Temporary staff were recruited for this work on a day-today basis at normal rates and conditions.
