HC Deb 09 July 1973 vol 859 c237W
4. Mr. Coombs

asked the Secretary of Mate for Trade and Industry what proportion of the money given to firms within the terms of the Industry Act to date has gone to enterprises employing less than 200 people.

Mr. Anthony Grant

This information is not available, but some indication of the strong response from smaller firms in the regions is given by the fact that over 85 per cent. of Section 7 applications are for loans—or the equivalent in interest relief grant form—of less than £250,000.

9. Mr. Gwynoro Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will review the criteria laid down for assistance under the Industry Act 1972.

Mr. Anthony Grant

The Industry Act is working well and I see no need at present to review the criteria.
