§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is his policy as to the individual responsibility of members of the Southern Rhodesian regime regarding illegal executions of members of the Zimbabwe Liberation Movement.
§ Lord BalnielI have nothing to add to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Manchester, Blackley (Mr. Rose) on 28th March.—[Vol. 853, c. 340.]
§ Sir G. Nabarroasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he is aware that certain supplies of educational equipment, namely, training manuals and badges, for St. John Ambulance Brigade in Rhodesia, are being held up because of the sanctions; whether he will take steps to release this equipment because of its educational character; and whether he will say when the equipment will be sent out.
§ Lord BalnielI understand that a licence to export St. John Ambulance Brigade badges, etc., to Rhodesia was issued by the Department of Trade and Industry to the brigade on 5th March. There are no outstanding applications. Training manuals may be exported to 107W Rhodesia without restriction although Bank of England approval is necessary if their value exceeds £10. This was explained to the brigade last year. If my hon. Friend will let me have the details of the problem in this case, I will look into them.
