HC Deb 09 April 1973 vol 854 c223W
Sir H. Harrison

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many Members have an office on the second floor to which there is no lift; and what steps he is taking to rectify this.

Mr. Channon

Only my hon. and gallant Friend as Chairman of the British Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. I am advised that the union was informed some years ago that it would be both difficult and expensive to install a lift in the well of the fine stone spiral staircase which leads to the second floor from St. Stephen's Hall.
